Swooped Upon
Stopping along a snowy mountain cliff, ravens suddenly
swoop down on the young handler and her wilderness search dog.
On Location at the Banff Gondola: Several Scenes for the film Search Dog's Raven
were filmed at the Banff Gondola
in Banff National Park. In this shot, the ravens were filmed
separately, so actress Allex Michael and Ebbey had to pretend to be swooped upon. To help the
canine actor's performance, a small bird kite with streamers was hung from a nearby tree. Strong
mountain
winds would pick up the bird kite and carry it in the wind for up to a minute at a time. Though
Ebbey quickly realized this was not a real
bird, the erratic movements held her attention for several takes.

Though aiming for a 'PG', the film Search Dog's Raven is not yet rated.
